This is a lovely family getaway home in Vérel, a mountain-side hamlet nestled just above the lakeside village of Talloires, on the Eastern shores of Lake Annecy in the French Alps. The owners love the outdoors, entertaining and great food and wine and have designed the house with all these things in mind.
The house is designed in the simple and cosy comfort of Scandinavian style and furnished to a very high standard. For fire lovers, there is an indoor wood burning fireplace and an outdoor brasero which provides wonderful warmth, atmosphere and a great place to toast marshmallows.
The house faces South-West, so is perfectly oriented for all-day sun, for longer sunlight hours in Winter (when the nights are long!) and long balmy Summer evenings.
The bedrooms are simply furnished in a relaxed style and the beds are designed for cocooning. The 160x200 cm beds are covered by kingsize goosedown duvets affording the cosy experience of sleeping in a cloud. A wonderful experience after a long day of hiking!
For those who just want to laze around the house, there's ping pong (table tennis), badminton, petanque or just simply lounging in the garden with a glass of wine whilst the paragliders float above in the sky.
The open plan living area opens onto a wide deck and a large rolling garden with lots of mature trees. There are lots of opportunities to both relax with a book under a tree or for children to play hide and seek or roll down the grass (maybe under some light supervision for younger kids ;). Please note that the garden is not fenced off and is simply bordered by trees with the neighbouring properties
The house is equipped with WIFI and a Smart Tv with access to many channels and Netflix capability for those guests who have their own account.
The area is at the heart of some of Europe's most striking and pristine scenery: Vérel's plateau overlooks the beautiful waters of Lake Annecy (Europe's cleanest), while backing onto the mountains of the Bornes and Aravis ranges.
Traditional Alpine rural life remains vibrant in the villages and 'alpages', and awe-inspiring views are all-round, all the way to the 4,810m Mont-Blanc.
It is a nature and outdoors activity paradise throughout all seasons, flavoured with a delicious touch of the French good life, and nearby Swiss and Italian influences.
Annecy, Manigod, La Clusaz, Aix-les-Bains, Megève and Chamonix (with access to the Mont-Blanc and the Aiguille du Midi) are all nearby, and Italy is just 1.5hrs away - all making for a great variety of easily-accessible outings and day trips.

We require 25% deposit required to confirm the booking
The balance due + security deposit are payable no later than 8 weeks prior to arrival
The security deposit will be reversed within 7 days of your departure.
Payments can be made online by card or by bank transfer in EUROS or GBP
The guest will be refunded 100% of the total cost if the cancellation happens at least 60 days before the checkin

- No parties or event unless approved beforehand with the Owner
- Noise restriction applies and drugs and overuse of alcohol is strictly prohibited.
- Check-in from 4pm & Check-out by 10am, unless otherwise agreed in writing with the property manager.
- Pets are prohibited unless approved beforehand
- Groups of young adults must be accompanied by a responsible adult that will take responsibility for the group.
- Guests will receive a house manual with a full list of property details, rules and local recommendations a couple of weeks before arrival.
